Where are the wage increases for Canadian associates?

A recent decision from Walmart in the United States to raise wages for almost half-a-million of its U.S. workers by about 10% over the next two years will have no effect on the wages of workers in its Canadian stores.

Walmart Canada, the largest general merchandise retailer in Canada, has announced that it has no similar plan to raise the pay for workers at its Canadian stores. Why not?

With over 94,000 Canadian workers and an estimated $23 billion in sales in 2014 alone, the company can also afford to raise wages for workers in its Canadian stores. And with the company expanding its Canadian operation in the wake of Target's departure, Walmart could be looking at an additional $2 billion of revenue in 2015, on top of what it already pulls in.  So why does Walmart Canada continue to deny its workers the pay raise it gave in the USA, and continue to require Walmart Canada workers to pay for their benefits?

Let's demand fairness for Walmart Canada workers.
